Another Dragon Quest 7 remake? Sure, why not? I'm one of those weirdos who played through the PS1 version multiple times.

Saw in a high school student's essay online the claim that distance wasn't a good justification for social media, because we didn't have social media for most of the last 4 decades, and they had great communication. I didn't say it to the student, because it's just an ESL kid, but: omg no.

Found this in an old discussion online and... what? "A", "an", and "the" have all the characteristics of normal adjectives? I can think of tons of properties of adjectives, and articles share only one of them!

I'm a big fan of this game. It's basically Dragon Warrior Rando, but with a lot of modern tweaks that make it very breezy. It's on sale now, and the price will go up when it reaches 1.0 in a couple months.

If you use the Brave browser and Google as your default search, try this: Brave Settings -> Shields -> Content Filtering -> Turn developer mode on -> add this as a custom filter and click Save: google.*##.YzCcne:not([jscontroller]) And just like that, the nightmare of google AI results is gone.

The replacement of the Charterstone pool party with "private cruise on Dr. Jeff's yacht" as the standard Mary Worth storyline interstitial is symptomatic of the broader pandemic-era trend towards isolation and atomization in American society. In this essay I will

Something I noticed and appreciated in Breath of the Wild: The game has rainbows. But far better than that, it has scientifically accurate rainbows. Alt text for explanations why. RD2R's double rainbow for comparison of a game that got it wrong.

English passive voice is fine. It's not a mark of bad writing, it's not especially evasive or wordy, it doesn't lack action, and it's not wimpy or indirect. The writing guides that recommend against it cheat to construct examples that can't ordinarily be used.

This is the source of our modern word "sorry." Surprisingly, the word "sorrow" is etymologically unrelated. It comes from Old English "sorg": grief, regret, trouble, pain, anxiety.

I revisited MGS2 criticism for the first time in a decade. It feels good to reconnect with it. I hope everyone loves something like I love Metal Gear. Here, I discuss narrative design in MGS2's VR Missions, how it folds back into the campaign's story, and the meaning this has beyond the game.

In Metal Gear Solid 5, you could customize your base's insignia with two pre-set words & two stamps. This is how the game would introduce invaders to your base during the async multiplayer mode. Most Mother Base insignias were hardcore โ DEATH SQUAD, KILLER SNAKE, etc.

20 years ago today, I saw the news that Mitch Hedberg and Bass Wolf had both died, and I thought they were April Fool's jokes. Actually both had died before April 1 and it took a couple days for the news to appear where I'd see it. I didn't believe until people pointed that out.
