vindicated on my longheld belief that the dems could've won way more often even without giving lefties like me anything if they just poured money into the basic on the ground fundamentals instead of consultants and ads, but they don't, didn't, and won't

Lost in the discourse about establishment dems/centrists vs progressives/DSA is only one of those sides is knocking doors. Putting aside ideology for a second, DSA mobilized volunteers to knock 100,000+ doors for their candidates. That is as much their secret sauce as their broadly popular platform.

Liberal Hollywood should start making counterpart films as absurd as this. A bunch of hick car dealership owners think it's woke and transgender to treat city water, and after half the town keels over from cholera an aid group of immigrant Ivy League doctors cures them for free. Roll credits.

This reads like it's supposed to be a negative piece on Zohran but instead it shows exactly how he translated his own win into downballot success. His tactics may be cutthroat but the results are undeniable.

NYC: Joe's, 2 Bros, and most Italian dollar slice places are mid. The good stuff is from random holes in the wall run by Arabs or South Asians. Spokane: Night life is awful. Just a bunch of speakeasies in a 10-block downtown. Learn to have some fun!

Absolutely disrespectful plays I had in softball today where I stole second playing chicken, then later had sliding steals into third and home on the *same play.* Not even necessary since we won 16-6.

ok, as someone who has been in the trenches of working on and helping shape DSA's electoral strategy, these posts (and the many other dunks) have literally no idea what they're talking about. the framing that DSA hasn't been building from the ground up is deeply ignorant. a thread:

Game theory is firmly in the social sciences and not the analytical sciences since its results are so easy to juice. Since truly rational actors do not exist, game theory is better used to backfill how an actor determined what to do rather than determining what an actor will do.

Insightful article on the delay between touching the stove and actually getting burnt. The US/West is still insulated from the brunt of the immediate fallout because we source our oil from non-Gulf territory and routes. Asia, however, is getting hit big with prices $150+ in a sign of what's to come.

This is a really good thread on the impacts the war in Iran will have on oil prices and renewable energy. A 20% loss in oil supply can only be supplemented by renewables, and the change will last far longer than the destabilization. Fossil fuels are too risky!
