I'm not sure new leadership in the Democratic Party is enough. I can't game out how the DNC survives as anything besides a political theater project. In name, the taint now runs deep and shameful. In tactics, any innovation is considered heretical and stamped out (see the latest surrender).

Test: if I call the Democrats managed opposition, will I get the usual "nu-uh" replies today? What POSSIBLE benefit is there to caving this deep into the longest shutdown ever, when a majority of the country rightfully blames the GOP, and a blue wave election just gave you a mandate to fight?

every single time I run @hebanongames.bsky.social 's Red Markets and the players run out of Will so they start a pointless and stupid argument to force Self Control checks on each other and blow off steam I sit back and watch with awe. especially if they crit-succeed so they feel better actually.

There are few uncomplicated joys in life. My favorite is glowing 5-star review of my work. A close second is a seething 1-star screed by a right-winger. The rush I get from fascist disapproval is tempered only by the need to wade through what passes for prose amongst those illiterate buffoons.

Sometimes I am not as subtle as I think I am when I try to guide players to a particular place when I am running a RPG. @hebanongames.bsky.social is not having any of it in this Fall of Delta Green session.

I’m writing Red Markets 2e. A big part of the setting’s near future tech is “Ubiq Specs.” I worried how something based on the laughable Google Glass would translate to the new edition, as it was so silly as to be almost completely forgotten. Then Zuck reinvents the same failed prototype, but AI.

just got done playing a TTRPG called "Fae's Anatomy," which is a melodramatic medical drama where you play supernatural doctors diagnosing fantastical diseases, and it was honestly amazing. we only let our patient die three times! 😊

Moderating fan communities for games you work on is like when Augustus had a servant follow as he passed through adoring Rome, whispering "remember thyself mortal." Only there's 20+ guys at any moment, they live in your pocket, and they loudly fight over exactly HOW you ain't shit.

I ran a Delta Green game once where a body-swapping alien swam in chemical run off while hijacking the body of a senator. It was a dark satirical comedy. I never tried to publish it because it was too ridiculous. The HHS secretary is now swimming in poo creek to own the libs.
