In a UN speech today, President Trump said that "all of these [climate] predictions were wrong". Back in 2019 I led a research effort to digitize old climate model projections and assess how well they did. Turns out they got future warming pretty spot on!

I'm probably alone in this, but I don't get mad when I see reports, articles, analyses etc that still use 1.5C as a framework, particularly not around rich countries or rich companies. I just see it as a stand-in for "the most urgent action possible", which is what those entities should be enacting

The Cork to Kinsale Greenway would be absolutely transformative for this area. I’m an experienced and confident cyclist, and I won’t cycle on most of the roads in this area.

The last time Greenland was green was 400,000 years ago, when sea level was between 6 and 12 meters higher than now. Today, atmospheric CO2 is 1.5 times greater than it was back then. Goodbye to most of the world's coastal cities, I guess.
