There are many ways that cows emitting methane constantly are completely different from closed power stations. Firstly, their ongoing emissions are a choice and a lever we still have agency over. Secondly, they also cause a load of long-life GHGs, directly and indirectly.

Systems change is brought about by the collective actions of individuals. So individual actions, when supporting systems change, is absolutely fundamental to climate action.

Great thread on systemic and individual action on climate change. While it’s true, for example, that fossil fuel companies have manipulated the system to maintain their interests, it’s also true that individuals can make choices that drive down consumption.

Not that she needs another endorsement, but I'll be enthusiastically voting for Catherine Connolly in next week's presidential election. Her record on climate action is sincere and coherent. And she's run a dignified and clean campaign... Unlike her opponent.
