The Patriot Act of 2001 and Homeland Security Act of 2002 are classic examples of “disaster fascism.” Authoritarians used the fear and uncertainty following 9/11 to erase basic freedoms and consolidate power. These cowardly laws have no place in the home of the brave.

These observers are heroes. ICE now seems focused more on chasing/arresting them than anyone else, and while that's obviously fascist thuggery it means they've got less resources to attack 'suspected immigrants.' Observers putting their bodies on the line for this are straight-up heroes.

The whole point of ICE in Minneapolis is to anger residents in hope of generating violence. They are just trying one thing after another to see if they can provoke a response that will give them the narrative they want.
