I hope people understand that if Trump gets his way America will soon be part of the global axis of evil if we aren't already. You see it in the Caribbean, you see it in Ukraine, and you see it with Trump trying to buddy up to Xi. We are a malevolent force.

There goes the lucrative industry of international tourism, already fairly wrecked. The US was "the world’s most powerful Travel & Tourism market, contributing a record-breaking $2.36 TN to the nation’s economy last year" said the World Travel & Tourism Council in 2024.

No one before Sam successfully raised a child, which is why the human species went extinct in Mesopotamia. Seriously, the best way to read this is that countless billions of humans did just fine but Sam is not as competent and self-reliant as them, and that's what AI wants us to be: dependent.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going. It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.

One of the most common replies in any discussion of universal basic income is "but how do we pay for it?" and not once do those same people ever question the costs incurred by not doing UBI. We spend $1.5 trillion every year on the costs of child poverty alone. Poverty ain't free, folks. WE ALL PAY.

Really excellent point that often gets lost in the (deserved) mockery. These things are not neutral arbiters of truth. They are easily manipulated extensions of the ideology of their creators. The attempt to shove them into every conceivable knowledge space is an explicitly political project.

On principle I simply don’t endorse wishing violence on people, especially as a public joke. For a host of reasons including how wishing violence on people changes the *wisher*. On this point I think people should be careful for *spiritual* reasons, whether or not it’s simply expedient.

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump. The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

If Biden had said anything half this dumb/crazy, he would have been removed under the 25th Amendment by the end of the week. The only reason Republicans don’t remove an obviously unfit president is because they’re no longer a political party. They’re a crime syndicate.
