I would’ve gone to school in some capacity forever if it didn’t cost the price of one human soul to do so. Literally saw a MA program last week and rushed to check details… 100k a year for full time students, 70k part time. The joy of learning is priceless, knowledge shouldn’t be so expensive.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

And worse yet, this is fairly wide spread across most of (what I would call) meaningful jobs and industries. They don’t call it the student loan crisis for nothing. It’s upsetting, I mourn for the generations to come bc if it’s this bad now? Idk what they’ll do.
