Why does the copy machine stop working right before high holidays every single year?

I just can’t do it anymore. I need at least 8 hours of sleep a night, probably more, and my body and brain just cannot push through. Like I got to work this morning, stumbled to the library couch and passed out for 4 hours straight. I’m 43 what is happening.

Well, I hardly slept last night but on the bright side, being up early lets me work more hours? There are six days till Rosh Hashanah, time is limited!

Somehow, while showering, I realized I had set up a link incorrectly on an email that was scheduled to go out in the morning. Which led to almost an hour trying to access my work accounts on my personal laptop, bc only my office pw manager and the dark web know what my passwords are.

Apparently Powell’s closes at 9 now? I went after work around 9:30 and the whole area was a darkened waste, devoid of most people, nothing open. I swear they used to stay open till 11. Anyway, no ridiculous blank books for me.

What an amazing life.

Thankfully I self-soothed enough to go back to work, turn on some Sibelius, and work my way through it. I’ve been on such an even keel lately that it’s a little reassuring to know I can still get really bent out of shape over basically nothing?

Oh wow, I’m in such a bad mood. Whhhhhy is it fall? Why do people suck? Why does my trauma always start with having to live somewhere I hate? 😣

Sometimes it’s really annoying to work for an organization that doesn’t have an exterior communication strategy.

I was so out of it after working those events yesterday I stayed home and mostly did not work today. It was nice and chill. I slept late and took a nap, zoomed an evening meeting.

Just did staff support for two large events and for some reason I can’t get my thoughts together for the newsletters that need to go out tomorrow. All peopled out.

I’m so happy for Shabbat bc otherwise I would not have slept 14 hours straight, talked with sister for a bit, and then fried up some tasty tofu. I am watching Frozen 2, which always feels new to me.

What if. What is I skipped off and went to the park for a bit, then came back and did more work? Keeping in mind that I’m working six Sundays in a row, this does not sound unreasonable. 🤔

Well, last night I was gung ho about getting work done at work but today I finished my only meeting and just want to laze about and not consolidate all the notes I was thinking about last night. So weird.

Most cat owners probably know this, but if you give them a plush toy right after teasing/hunting play, they will go nuts on it with their disemboweling claws and feel really satisfied about “catching” some prey. It’s so wonderful to watch. Also serves as closure for playtime. 🦁

I am so bad at my job. Some people hanging out by the door tonight had a very good dog with them that they let me pet. Didn’t remember until I left that I’m supposed to tell people dogs are not permitted there. Bleh, I am not made to follow dumb rules all the time. Dog was so sweet!

Studying Hebrew today was fun and kind of funny. I came with my binyan tense charts and he engaged me in enthusiastic, not quite right but still understandable conversation for the full hour. Which honestly is more fun than charts. Mostly. 😂 Neither of us is good yet but we helped each other. 😊

I made kind of a snazzy graphic for tomorrow’s e-newsletter tonight, very satisfying. And I finished so much email and tomorrow I’m taking a break in the workday to study modern Hebrew with a friend across town. It’s terribly busy with RH in mere weeks. I was so depressed w less to do, now fine.
