Just insane that the left treated the tech industry with increasing hostility just because they undermined organized labor, flouted the regulatory state, and bragged that they were going to get rid of everybody's jobs for a decade straight.

The most horrendous, harmful stuff I've seen on social media this year has been the countless atrocities carried out by Israel and supported by its Western allies, like us. I would have opted for more pressure to end that, instead of just banning the ability for kids to become aware of the horror.

Passing far-ranging laws without any idea how they will be enforced, kicking the can down the road and saying "we'll figure it out later, should be fine" - good thing that approach has never backfired before or had unintended consequences!!

i think the part of all this that's been so hard to accept and has been so emotionally devastating is that even the ability to pretend that this country's ideas of equal protection and that "no one is above the law" are real is impossible because they're being refuted by our institutions

I suspect that some annoyed pundits are insistent in claiming Bluesky is a progressive bubble not because, as they believe, it’s hyper-partisan, but because for them, subconsciously, the remarkably civil tone of the platform feels coded as progressive. And that says quite a lot about their outlook.

Yes! For 5+ years, especially 2017-20, Twitter was centered around Trump as main character. Professional media covered his tweets as news. The idea that it was ever biased against him and his supporters is absurd. If anything, it was biased towards him, making special exemptions to universal rules.
