Just as an aside, PS3 emulation has gotten real good AND they've got custom multiplayer servers up and running. Folks have been playing Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair (the wild mega-scale co-op dungeon crawler - no other game like it) on PC for a while now.

the crazy thing about game preservation debate is this idea that we can reach a compromise with gaming companies when just yesterday the ESA loudly lobbied that private servers for online games should be illegal. this was always an adversarial relationship.

One more consideration re: cutting discs. Many public libraries offer VIDEO GAMES alongside books, movies, CDs, manga, even vinyl! No more discs cuts games out of libraries. Games want to be taken seriously as an art form and then refuse to behave like a serious art form.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

Some people have asked about steam page etc.: I hope to launch it at some point this year, with a trailer for the game. Progress is always moving forward but we are taking the time it needs to make it the way we want
