I actually had to explain to someone recently that the AI that tells enemies in video games how to react to player inputs is NOT genAI and has existed for literal decades. they genuinely had no idea there was a difference. this shit has poisoned the well so bad.

Gundam X feels like the logical extreme of early UC series. Humanity is near extinct, Newtypes are still exploited, and the fate of all humanity rests on one teenager that grabs a Gundam controller. I adore X's atmosphere so much, both through its visuals and its gloomy soundtrack.

Another one for funsies. The Right Stuf was an amazing company and an important part of the U.S. anime industry and its history. Crunchyroll bought it and of course lied when they said nothing was changing. Everything changed and they ultimately destroyed TRSI for nothing.

I can't purchase Build Divers Re:RISE, the only Gundam series I don't own, on Blu-ray because Crunchyroll let the entire franchise go OOP and now everything from resellers is insanely expensive.

I have never understood the idea of gatekeeping anime fandom. I want as many people as possible to watch and enjoy anime, and I don't care if for many that means just the "popular/normie" titles. You don't get special credit for watching that canceled 80s mecha show that was fansubbed in 2005.

Amazon's adaptation of The Wheel of Time was certainly not without its faults, but I still enjoyed the ride. I never expected them to get through all the books, but it's a shame there's so many moments from the rest of the series that we'll never see now.
