On Sunday, #Zürich residents voted 52.8% in favor of increasing parking fees for cars according to weight. The owner of a BMW X2 (Diesel), which weighs 1,675 kilograms, will now pay equivalent of €717 Euros per year to park on a public street. (Before, about €321.) Direct democracy!

Just a reminder, this project began June 2024. There were 15 months between open houses. And we got about 3 blocks of red paint and a few hours a day. If the city had presented & implemented what it presented last week it would have been a massive win in our books But it's taken a year & 3 months.

And would someone be able to explain to us why we need to do "studies" to determine if sidewalks are good or not? This is the kind of red-tape that needs to absolutely be removed from any sort of decision making. It stands in the way of creating the safe and inviting cities that we all want.

Bank Street bus lanes seems like a very good idea. Wish we could implement on an urgent pilot basis - perhaps 6-12 months - given the reliability issues right now. The consultation/engagement process takes too long.

Thanks to everyone who came by to chat and help with the Park(ing) day event! Unfortunately we only got to be in the street for a couple hours until we moved over to Kunstadt's parking lot (huge shoutout to them for letting us use it). Our streets can be so much more with just a bit of change!

Saw a patient in the ER that was struck by a car while riding their bicycle. They noted that they were not intending to make a police report because the driver had stopped and been nice. Mutual kindness is heartwarming, but there are reasons why making an official report is important. 1/ #bikeTO

The next three 7s are cancelled at the start of evening rush. This is an every day occurrence due to the lack of working buses to run the schedule we need. OC Transpo needs to order more buses to replace the over 15 year old fleet and hire enough mechanics to get the existing buses in service.

This failed sewer pipe was installed in 1963. The city has 633km of sewer pipe older than this one. Council just decided to only fund 2/3rds of the identified water and sewer work needed over the next decade, deferring the other third. Get used to seeing a lot more emergency road closures, Ottawa.
