The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario has been replacing Hwy 417 bridges as they age out. Today, MTO announced that the next bridges to be replaced will be at Maitland Ave and Woodroffe Ave.

Attending Ottawa Heritage day, I got to meet Robert Steven, Executive Director of the Ottawa Museum Network, to talk about the importance of Algonquin College's Museum Studies program - the only one of its kind in Canada. That program supports many museums across the country.

At Ottawa Heritage Day, I had the honour of meeting Margaret Hall one of the winners of the Louise & Eric Moore Award for Outstanding Heritage Volunteerism. Marg lives here in #CollegeWard. I am very pleased to read that Algonquin College will hold off on cutting several important programs. I have been working with the College, students, and the community over the past weeks to stress how effective these programs are and what they mean to both the City and residents.

I joined Mayor Sutcliffe, Councillor Rawlson King, and others this morning at a breakfast to celebrate Black History Month. My special guest was #CollegeWard resident Kingsley Munu, who founded Ottawa Loves Tennis, a fantastic not-for-profit group serving Ottawa's Afro-Caribbean tennis community.

There are urgent water infrastructure repairs near Heather Way today and residents may experience interruptions in water service. Water service is expected to be restored within 12 hours.

This morning, I attended a news conference with MPP Chandra Pasma to oppose the private sell-off of the former Grant Alternative School on Draper Ave. The municipality is no longer on a priority list so we don't get to put forward a need for public use of public lands, before it gets sold.

I'm grateful to have an Ottawa city councillor recognize caregivers. Disabled people often feel that we are pushing a boulder up hill in trying to persuade governments to include unpaid care in their home health care planning.

I don't usually share other country's stories, but I am a sucker for kids being kids in political spaces. As a mom who has been criticized for having to parent while working, I love seeing 'politics' disrupted to become supportive for everyone. Let's make new sounds and noises at press conferences.

World Cancer Day with @chandrapasma.bsky.social @survivornetca.bksy.social in #collegeward is always a powerful reminder of the fabric of community care surrounding us, often invisible. I learned a great deal about anal cancer for example, a rare cancer for which peer support groups are essential.
