Ottawa is at its best when we come together to support one another. It was incredible to see so many people at Volunteer Ottawa’s Get On Boards event, ready to give their time and expertise and volunteer.

The Community Services Committee has approved a plan to refinance the mortgages on OCHC properties, generating about $135 million that will go towards maintaining over 16,500 units of affordable housing in Ottawa.

It was a pleasure to attend the High Holiday Worship Service at Temple Israel with Rabbi Mikelberg and to visit Machzikei Hadas to meet Rabbi Scher and the community. Wishing all who are celebrating a sweet and prosperous New Year. Shanah Tovah!

Direct flights to international destinations are critical for our local economy and our residents. I’m pleased to see that building on the initial success of their recently launched London-Ottawa service, Air Canada is expanding direct flights to London so they will now continue throughout the year.

Here’s a perfect example of why it’s so important to understand the concerns for rural residents and work together to deliver what they need for their community.

Ottawa is saying "Yes" to housing. I shared our ambitious Housing Action Plan with Premier Doug Ford. We share the goal of building more homes, faster, and building them cheaper. The Housing Action Plan will cut red tape, streamline processes, reduce and defer fees, and make building easier.

It was great to join Premier Doug Ford with MPPs George Darouze, Stephane Sarrazin GPR PC, Mohamed Firin, and Sheref Sabawy to announce Ontario’s investment in Ottawa through the Skills Development Fund. This funding will support over 1,500 people train for in-demand jobs in the trades.

It was great to welcome Premier Ford to Lansdowne Park today and talk about Ottawa's city-building projects, including Lansdowne 2.0. I shared with the Premier how the plan will bring new visitors, tourists, and events to our city, and new housing to the site.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Ruth Cull, known to so many as Mollypenny. For more than 20 years she brought laughter, comfort, and kindness to children and families at CHEO. Her humour and her compassion made a difference during some of the toughest moments in people’s lives.

It was wonderful to meet so many people enjoying the incredible local food, shopping locally, and feeling that community spirit that makes Taste of Wellington such a great event. Congratulations to the organizers, volunteers, and small businesses for putting on such a successful event.

Had a fantastic time at the Kanata Craft Beer Festival with Councillor Curry on a perfect day! Great to see so many local small businesses showcasing their products to an enthusiastic crowd. A big thank you to the organizers for putting on such a well-run event.

Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa has been serving our community for 65 years and is a critical partner in our commitment to end youth homelessness by 2030. It was a pleasure to join YSB and the YSB Foundation for their AGM this morning.

It was a really fun time at the Richmond Fair and parade! Great to be there with Councillor David Brown, MPP @GeorgesDarouze, so many families, farmers, and neighbours out enjoying the event. I love being part of this community tradition. It’s a great way to spend the day.

It's been a busy but productive week. I had a very constructive meeting with Prime Minister Carney and started to work on our shared objectives for downtown Ottawa and the ByWard Market. We announced our objective of ending youth homelessness by 2030.

I was honoured to recognize three army veterans from France in Ottawa for this year’s Army Run. It’s so great to see Veterans from all over support this great run. See you there.

I was honoured to join the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run with OPS. It was inspiring to see law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes come together to celebrate the power of sport and the importance of opportunity for everyone.

I was proud to join the Aiken family and Councillor Curry to honour Blair Aiken with the naming of the Blair Aiken Skateboard Park. Blair was an exceptional person who built spaces where young people could skate, connect, and feel like they belonged.

Housing is too expensive for too many families. Ottawa’s Housing Action Plan will overhaul the system at City Hall, cutting red tape and making it easier for responsible projects to move forward.

Councillor Cathy Curry and I are deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court decision not to review the ClubLink case, and we understand how disappointing this is for the residents of Kanata Lakes.

I had the chance to connect with this year’s Forty Under 40 nominees. What an incredible group of leaders. Congratulations to each of you on this recognition. You’re joining an inspiring group of past recipients who continue to make a big impact in our city.

It was an honour to be the first to be checked through the One Million Hearts campaign at @The Ottawa Heart Institute. It was great to tour our renowned Heart Institute alongside Yasir Naqvi, Catherine McKenney, Dalton McGuinty, and Dr. Rob Beanlands and help launch their new strategic plan.

When I ran for Mayor in 2022, I promised to make Ottawa safer, more reliable, and more affordable.

This weekend’s LRT tests from Blair to Trim were a success. Seeing trains run at full speed from Tunney’s Pasture all the way to Trim was exciting. We still need to complete the remaining tests and follow every step in the process, including those recommended by the public inquiry.

What a fantastic day at the Alta Vista Corn Roast hosted by Councillor Carr! The sun was shining, the corn was perfect, and so many people came out. Thank you to all the volunteers and everyone who helped make this event happen. It’s your hard work that brings our community together.

Local news is such an important part of keeping our community connected and informed. It was great to start the morning on @ctvyourmorning.bsky.social Ottawa. We saw a record-breaking summer for tourism this year, and this Fall we’re working hard to keep life affordable for Ottawa residents.

Thank you to Prime Minister Mark Carney for a very productive meeting today following the Build Canada Homes announcement. We will work together to build more homes faster, grow Ottawa’s economy, and revitalize downtown and the ByWard Market.
