As far as I can tell, Valve hasn’t explicitly said you could install a different OS on Steam Frame, while it does for Steam Machine. I don’t want to believe Valve locked it down though, that’d be kinda weird for them. Maybe they don’t want to get hopes up that you could run Windows on it?

Holy shit. Does Windows 11 *actually* ban you from disabling Game Bar? In Windows 10 it's still optional. I have literally never been comfortable with that thing being active. I feel like every day I learn a new reason to stop using Windows rather than use Windows 11.

If you're using Windows 11, Microsoft is now surveilling you in a new way. What worries me is that after they normalize this behavior they're going to go after people who circumvent it. They're going to criminalize using other OSes like Linux that don't have surveillance. The moment to push back at this is now.
