Generative AI is a fundamentally bad and destructive technology that has absolutely no beneficial uses that don't outweigh its massive negatives. The world would be better if it was completely obliterated. If we lived in a world that respected art, it would not exist.

I think I found the issue with what was killing my nixos-unstable-small builds. My "all NixOS systems" derivation makes the Nix process use around 31 GB RAM. This PC has 64 GB, so it worked fine without the small branch, but some other high-RAM build collided with this and triggered the OOM killer.

This is the main thing that concerns me. 30fps? It can’t do 60? The Steam Deck is capable of running the game at 60 most of the time, especially in duties. The Switch 2 is supposed to be a little more powerful.

The biggest reason to play this on my Steam Deck has gone away… maybe. The separate subscription is the biggest issue. But I also want to see what performance is like.

Vibe coders are like "it's okay the computer wrote the code, because a human reviews and tests it!" and then you look at their product and this is the kind of thing that slips past their QA process. I thought it'd be cool to switch to nixos-unstable-small so I could get updates faster. The longer compiles don't matter so much when you make them run overnight. Until it started compiling Firefox, where it kept running out of RAM, killing nix (and tmux). And this is on a server with 64gb ram!
