calling all MST/sync 1.1 sickos: what is happening behind the scenes when I get a repo commit from a sync 1.1 relay with a prevData CID that does NOT match the previous commit's data CID?

Billy, this is the Bluesky user base. They're natural posters. They are some of the sharpest voices on the internet. Their only defect is they can't stop making figurative death threats.

out of curiosity I looked into the sarah kendzior suspension - no posts remaining in the jetstream playback stand out as suspension worthy - the mod action was !suspend rather than !takedown, so I wonder if it's just temporary a limited view of it all but that's what I'm seeing

I remember seeing a custom feed on here that populated itself by searching against a Wikipedia moderation regex that consisted of "overused meme phrases" Called something like "Rule 741" I can't find it now. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

What if you donโt like butterflies? The great thing about an open network is that anyone can build on top and customize it! Maybe you like birds more. Well, someone could build BirdSky, and you could switch to using that and still have the same friends, still see the same posts.

More broadly, regardless of how we moderate, we know that weโll be unable to create the perfect environment for everyone. While we will try our best, we donโt want people to feel forced to live with our decisions. From custom algorithms to composable moderation, we're designing for user choice.

The way to build a resilient forum for public conversation that lasts for the long-term is to build it on an open protocol, like the web itself. Services like websites can be built on top, but each can be run differently, and if users can easily move it keeps services accountable to users.
