Wow. No opt-out? Almost like how artists and developers feel when AI steals their work. Weird. “The chosen string instructs the agent to delete jqwik tests and code—a maximally destructive instruction with no qualifications, no opt-out, and no ‘warn the user first’ preamble,”

Regarding jqwik, if it causes a GenAI Bot to misbehave and delete your tests... that is the GenAI Bot's fault. Also sole maintainers of projects are BDFLs that can do whatever they want, so if your business/project relies on a single project existing then that is your business' fault.

A remarkable night in St Mellion, with the new pocket of Saharan dust delivering an even better selection of migrants than the first on Friday. 161 species recorded, with a few to check. 8 Striped Hawk-moth (H. livornica) was my highest ever total, making it 16 recorded in the past month.

about the recent EHRC Code of Practice impact on trans people. Lets make sure that it's not just trans folk being landmines on their own. Cis allies like me can do that too (following trans community leads).

Calling cisgender and heterosexual allies. One small thing you can do to help trans (and soon to be LGB+) people right now is change any sex/gender or sexual orientation questions on workplace or any other equality monitoring system to "prefer not to say" (and complain if that isn't offered)

My favorite bicyclists to see on Minneapolis streets are groups of unaccompanied kids. "All ages and abilities" should mean exactly that, and it's affirming to see that our bikeway designs are meeting that standard and helping kids enjoy more independence outdoors. No stronger endorsement!

Yeah my understanding is that it was during WW2 when Switzerland found themselves cut off from coal supplies to fuel their steam locos. They had plenty of overhead electrified track though so they converted these shunting locos to draw power to boil the water to create steam to drive the wheels.
