Might get flamed for this but YES, plus server (especially +2 and +3) has always disproportionally downvoted minorities, especially if youre unapologetic and vocal! Ive seen several posts from this season alone asking why they didnt make it and the answer is its probably NOT game related 🤷‍♀️

putting it out there, plus server culture is also inherently discriminatory to neurodivergent people by expecting others to conform, and the usual flow of conversation not making sense to people who can’t read through the lines OF the lines, then being made fun of for stuff IMPOSSIBLE to understand

Theres a few reasons but I'll point out the big 3 imo 1) Our style is built around high risk high reward, which yeah obv run qr. The thing is, if you go with the mindset that you'll win every fight and make that your goal. QR doesn't help much to win the fight, only recover

nobody in this community knows what “getting better” actually means, so all they wanna do is get into + servers or explain their skill with a div, which imo means legit NOTHING rn. Stop putting a title to ur skill and figure out how to win vs EVERYONE.

Splatoon is the only comp game where I've seen people actively avoid practice because they don't want to lose too many games which makes them think they aren't learning anything which just doesn't make any sense to me

Something I wish the comp splat scene understood more is truly to what extent different "levels" experience the game differently, and I don't just mean skill-wise. Just about everything from social bubbles, philosophies on the game, motivations and desires from playing the game, etc widely vary. 🧵

I still think booyah sword is technically optimal for the rapid comp I want to play but since there’s so few people that play sharking weapons anymore like roller 52 etc at least in the west then Vsword is probably better. Regardless auto booyah is consistent but vsword has higher highs
