I think I didn’t like double cooler with rapid because it felt like you still had to anchor too much so you couldn’t abuse how oppressive the weap is when it has cooler, but playing it as a midline with pen/edit on certain maps feels insanely strong. I’d probably run mint+dualie as the other two

A lot of people disagreed with grey saying to remove +2 and +3 but I honestly agree. Those servers are usually dead anyways and they just end up creating huge egos that do more harm than good

Why did we always call getting stuck on pencil “pencil jail” and not “pen island”

As a general observation beyond just today I think JP has better lockouts than the west largely from how aggro and stubborn they get with positioning for them. Every 10 seconds you watch a JP top player make an individual play that here we'd call feeding yet it works, or at least isn't punished🧵

People complain about shooters getting buffed all the time but I think it’s only a problem when the special balance is a problem. If the specials in the game have a healthy balance then the main weapons of shooters being stronger just makes them feel way better to play with

Main weapon wise, I don’t think any support comes close to mini but I don’t think mini should be nerfed. This game would get so much better if there was a giant patch of buffs (to weapons that are already “good” as well

I don’t get the hate for mega dragonite

For the sake of consistency, I think the best way for me to have comp success moving forward is to just become a blaster player and play mostly rapid and then play s-blast when I’m playing with a pen. I don’t have the time to practice like I used to and playing squeeze and sword is too hard

The past year or so of my comp career has been so sad. I made +3 and then immediately squeezer got nerfed. Then I picked up s-blast but I got dodged because people thought it was bad. Then I took a break from the game and everyone realized it's broken. Then I come back and they nerf s-blast

When trying to get better at splatoon I like to draw a lot of parallels from other competitive games I’ve played, and playing OW (specifically tracer) during my break from the game helped me understand stamper a lot better. My mechs aren’t as good yet but the weapon makes a lot more sense now

Can you tell I get mad when my solo teammates don’t shoot the ground

Til this day there is still no solo queue teammate more likely to guarantee you a loss than a shot wearing ninja squid

I still think booyah sword is technically optimal for the rapid comp I want to play but since there’s so few people that play sharking weapons anymore like roller 52 etc at least in the west then Vsword is probably better. Regardless auto booyah is consistent but vsword has higher highs

I’m about to start just playing X rank even in the bad rotations because series is the most unplayable piece of garbage ever. Can’t find games as soon as you hit 2400 but playing in any power below that matches you with the most mind numbingly horrible players I’ve ever witnessed

Fun fact: squeezer actually has an alternative firing mode called a “painting mode” but despite the misleading name, it actually has the worst paint in the entire game !

I honestly don’t get why people say WRP NEEDS a second cooler when the most success rapid deco had at top level was in a cooler-less comp. Even if it’s not getting coolers like a pen, it getting cooler at all is already an upgrade and running double cooler just feels like a budget pen comp

It wasn’t with rapid but double bubble ended up winning area cup anyways. It seems so strong right now. I kinda get why it fell off in the first place but the crab nerfs were also a huge buff to bubble and people should honestly start running at least one in their comps

Jr is the best weapon in the game to run if you aren’t playing hard meta comps. It’s so good at balancing out comps that have weapons with really extreme strengths and it should be a staple in every support shooter player’s weapon pool at this point

What would even be the ideal comp for squeezer at this point
