I finally did a run of the Japanese version of Spyro the Dragon after planning to for a few years. It's slower and the camera is definitely a downgrade but IMO it's not as "ruined" as people say. The infamous signs can be sometimes be funny and add a bit of lore (there's translations online).

It's interesting how internet connectivity has basically ruined the experience of using older consoles to some degree. Booted up an Xbox One S today and it's so darn slow - just insanely bad. Up to date 360s and PS3s are slow too. Yet, you boot a PS2 or a GCN? Feels as snappy as ever.
