For those following the UK digital competition bill, a bunch of gov amendments have been published this morning - most of which reflect large tech firms' concerns. Many are reasonable to rein in the CMA's discretion. But others go so far they risk undermining the regime. /1

Although it's hard to begrudge Breton for taking a tough approach to Twitter, it's hard to emphasise enough that this *NOT* how the DSA is meant to be enforced against big platforms - and it has huge risks. /1

Hiding tweets that refer to BSky was my prompt to move here. The DMA doesn't regulate Twitter. But the DSA may help. Platforms must set out restrictions/content moderation in their user terms + enforce them objectively. V hard to see how Musk's impulsive, arbitrary approach fits w that.
