Fright Night is an amazing film and easily a contender for one of the queer classics of the 80s. The plot is literally about a young man being scared of the gay couple next door while he idolizes a homosexual horror host on TV. Add in the best friend with a crush and the subtext is basically text.

The original promo for Hush was a thing of brilliance. WB promos were hit or miss but when they did hit? Bullseye!

Everytime I see Criterion distributing something on Netflix, a part of me feels a glimmer of hope that some of the Benoit Blanc films will get a release with commentary.

There are a handful of films in Will's "Well, I'm never going to feel joy again" Club but the three that spring to mind are Lars von Trier's Dancer in the Dark, Gus Van Sant's Elephant, and Christian Tafdruo's Speak No Evil. All were excellently made films that I never need to watch again.
