Tanjlock Sarlon, AD&D 2e, 1994. Wood Elf Fighter. I played him for 5 or 6 years, then revived him as a heroic NPC in my 5e campaign 12 years ago, where he ignored the Council of Waterdeep and got killed by the Cult of the Dragon to scare the PCs into taking the Cult (& forming alliances) seriously.

As a former (volume) reviewer, I DO think it's important to be clear about whether or not you played the game. I also think that an expectation of play before a review (or whatever term you want to use) would mean that most RPG products would never GET a review, due to the time factor. Which (cont.)
