Waiting for a late 8 to get to a #WeekWithoutDriving access ride along and it's wheelchair section is full. Unreliable buses mean more people waiting for a single bus and more likely that the only 2 seats i can use will be full.

We should be excited about zoning for universal accessibility. It' good for safety, the environment, business, and affordability, so why are we still catering to the people who continue to benefit from exclusionary zoning?

While unlicensed drivers do cause a disproportionate percentage of fatal crashes, these unlicensed fatal crashes only account for 1 out of every 10 fatal crashes in our state. It’s bigger than “bad behavior.” Car dependency inherently comes with risks.

I don't think people understand how isolating and lonely it can be when it takes so much time and energy to leave your (if you even have transportation options to leave your house)

If low density areas of the city resist upzones, I think it’s time we stop distributing city resources based on geography instead do it per capita so that areas that are denser get more resources: more local schools, more library hours, lifeguards & parks staff, sidewalks, nicer street lighting…

If you see yourself primarily as a transportation advocate, remember that the best transportation plan is a good land use plan. NOW is the time to engage on two key land use opportunities to make Seattle more walkable and affordable— this is one of those “Gondor calls for aide” moments.

I want to support local journalism and had previously really appreciated the work of Traffic Lab at the Seattle Times, every article lately has just had horrendous framing and parroted assumptions that “everyone drives.”
