You should be readying Shadell's work. These Rainy Autumn Nights is an insightful and moody nonlinear fantasy story. Also, be sure not to miss Carve It on My Bones, one of my favorite in-progress fictions

A Little Vice is one of the stories that got me back into writing and is one of the big inspirations for Revenant Rose, and These Rainy Autumn Nights made me sob for the same reasons TV Glow did. Stupidly poignant work that deserves more recognition.

A Little Vice is the story that got me into transfem fiction in the first place, and is still a go-to re-read for me. If you want a really good trans magical girl story that examines just how depression and dysphoria can turn us against ourselves then definitely give it a look!
