the proximate reason i post here — beyond the fact that i like a lot of you and enjoy reading your thoughts and jokes and observations — is that this is a non-algorithmic platform where people share lots of stuff and people read what is shared. that's still valuable even if it doesn't "influence!"

This is the fundamental reason I’m opposed to AI. It’s IP theft that is now being weaponized by people whose behavior should amount to harassment and incitement.

Sometimes I’m having a great day and then I hear someone regurgitate right-wing talking points. Ugh it doesn’t need to be this way.

Concede nothing. Let’s register and work with every eligible voter we can find so that we compete in and win these new districts and pick up seats currently held by Republicans too.

Really not tracking the Ryan Lizza stuff (accidentally saw that gross "cheeks" comment). But just a reminder: We spent much of the election last year distracted with these same people -- it wasn't the best use of our time.

The Guardian’s investigation into the Free Birth Society is a clear example of a closed, high-risk counterpublic. It can be examined directly through the lens of disordered discourse described in my work.

All 17 Constitutional amendments in Texas are set to pass. To get on the ballot, they needed 2/3 support in the House, meaning at least 12 Democrats to support. Serious conversations are needed about how nearly half of these even made it onto the ballot. Time to start holding our own accountable

Tonight’s election results are proof that Americans are demanding change. Texans want access to affordable health care, lower costs, public schools, and good jobs. When Texans finally have a governor who prioritizes our needs, we’ll deliver real results for working families across the state.

This is, of course, correct. But I fully expect most Democrats will see it as a cue to take cover, grovel in abject submission or just stop talking for fear of receiving their own federal indictment. Very few fighters left, when that's all we need at the moment.

I have been getting a bunch of questions about what it takes to run a race in Texas. I have made many videos over the past year talking about just that. When Rep. Hinojosa decided to jump in by email kind of exploded.

The primary problem we have in Texas? Billionaires hoarding political power at the expense of working Texans. As governor, I will prioritize your needs — tackling affordability, creating new jobs, expanding access to healthcare, and keeping our public schools open and funded.

For nearly a decade, I’ve fought Greg Abbott in the Texas House over his schemes to hand out no-bid contracts to his donors, attack our public schools, and let big corporations profit at the expense of Texans. I’m never going to stop fighting back.

I’m running for governor. For over a decade, Greg Abbott has made it easier for billionaires to profit while hardworking Texans struggle to afford groceries, housing, and healthcare. But together, we can make Texas work for Texans again. Join us:
