Inner Eastside for All only wants one thing and it's disgusting

The Affordable Housing Opportunities Project addresses a clear problem. Nonprofit and public housing providers already own land intended for affordable housing, but existing zoning creates unnecessary barriers and delays.

I've long thought that a more vigorous progressivism would be a winner. The average person does not want to be on a team of losers.

American planning in a nutshell: building apartments in a wealthy neighborhood? You need special permission and must rent 20% of them at a loss to poor people. For all but the shortest trips, Biketown is more expensive than TriMet. For a longer ride, it’s usually a lot more expensive than Uber/Lyft, especially for 2 or more people. It didn’t used to be like this—and it’s not like this in a lot of other cities with bike share either.

When Border Patrol shot two immigrants in Portland, they claimed they had ties to gangs. The Guardian later wrote a story exposing those claims as a smear campaign, but the narrative was regurgitated by city leadership that took DHS at their word. Now we see the true agitators in Eugene were DHS.

I don't think Councilors should have to dance around accountability. CA Jordan made >$300k/yr, and he had 1.5yrs to transition the government to the new system. Do these recent financial discoveries suggest that he did not systematically review and transition the City's system of accounting?
