Not everyone believed me when I wrote that Trump wants Greenland becuase it would make him feel important, but that's what he told the NYT: When asked why he needed to possess the territory, he said: “Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success"

My understanding is that this is a very serious rebuke to Trump & Vought insofar as science funding remains basically at 2024 levels. NASA in particular was ready for a bloodbath. A ways to go yet but a tremendous win for scientists who have been working their asses off to lobby for their jobs.

Academic jobs are premised on the fact that publishing is slow and hard. With agentic AI tools like Claude Code, that is about to change. First, let's be realistic: researchers and reviewers, like their students, will use AI in their work no matter what (even if your policy forbids it).

In the Nordics, we're quite worried about what's next, in particular for Greenland. Some of that is directed as a concern for the prime minister of Denmark - however, with Denmark having elections this year, I am also concerned for electoral integrity, Danish democracy and the risks of interference.

During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

I ignored the strip.clip argument in
#ggplot2
for way too long 😲 Combined with a small negative margin tweak, you can place facet labels inside each panel. A tiny trick that makes small multiples feel so much cleaner. 🔵 no manual coordinates 🔵 inherits theme styling 🔵 scales nicely when resizing
