This is so illuminating. For all its potential faults, pubpeer manages to justify its existence very regularly. Just imagine if the Wakefield/MMR paper had been published in the era of pubpeer and had been so rosolutely picked apart - we would be living in a different world.

I've already 34 requests for peer review this year, and it is exhausting. I've done a third of them, but the current system is simply not sustainable. It's insane to keep asking people to work for free while multibillion pound corporations pocket the rewards free labour

I wasn't expecting miracles, but no mention at all of the 10k+ jobs being lost at Universities in the Spring Statement. Terribly disappointing. These are growth promoting, GDP making jobs being lost in many sectors that this Government apparently once valued.
