It’s #BlackFridayParking day, so we took a visit to the Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury, CT. Even on the busiest day of the year—a day where the front side of the mall is packed—the back side and parking garage has more than enough space!

#BlackFridayParking at Bellevue One in Nashville. Supposedly the one day a year that the shops would need all this mandated parking, and it's still massively overbuilt.

Minimum parking requirements create financially insolvent land use patterns. The two apartment buildings on the right generate six times more in property taxes than the big box store on the left, while occupying almost half the space! #BlackFridayParking

🚨 100 US cities have now fully abolished parking mandates citywide! Shreveport, Louisiana, pushed the count to the 100th mark! It also became the first city in Louisiana to entirely abolish parking mandates! parkingreform.org/mandates-map...

So not only does the massive transit package passed last night fill the funding gap, it *boosts* ops funding by roughly the size of the gap, eliminates parking minimums within a half mile of rail stations, and gives the new regional transit board sweeping powers to do public development
