I’m deeply saddened by the tragic shooting near Barton Creek involving an APD officer and a community member. My heart is with them, their families, and loved ones. I’m committed to working with partners to support healing and strengthen safety across Austin.

Greg Abbott just deployed TX National Guardsmen to my City Council district. Tomorrow, 6/14, Texans will rally against tyranny on No Kings Day. Let’s be clear: the rally is peaceful and nonviolent. Sending the Guard ahead of time does nothing but intimidate and silence Texans.
