Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty: My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media. Huh? When did I say that?!

Many countries will be examining their resilience and independence from grossly improper US influence. The fact that the EU doesn’t have resilience to protect its citizens banking abilities is a massive failure in this regard. Not the rule of law there, but the rule of US law and policy.

Syphillis used to be so common and so destructive it would just destroy soft tissue on the face (and hands/feet), so people could AND DID form No Nose clubs so that they had a group of friends they could hang out with and just exist before it sent them into dementia and a horrible death.
