The first paper from the Robson lab and a wonderful team effort with our international collaborators. Through a lot of detective work, we unravel an important artifact, Ab-trapping, that leads to profoundly misleading signal in both microscopy and genomics. Absolutely worth a read!

What pays off if the goal is to secure a faculty position in academia. Emphasises big papers and post-doc career rather than PhD. Not surprising but unfortunately puts even more emphasis on hitting a breakthrough paper rather than building persistently certain research direction.
