Have you heard of #CIP2A, a hot new kid on the block of genome integrity and DNA repair? Funny enough, most of these papers hardly mention CIP2A as PP2A inhibitor covered by about 400 papers. This is really exciting developments for sure, an eventually these oncogenic arms of CIP2A will merge.

Running a lab involves lots of maintenance and technical development. We started this year to have bi-weekly Laboratory development meetings for this purpose. Very useful experience so far, Thanks everyone for your efforts🙏

Oh boy, #PP2A again contaminating #phosphatase research. First it was physiological PP2A binding that explained the S/T PPase activity of Eye, now it is a real contamination of PHLPP1/2 protein preps. Important work that forces to entirely rethink the past literature on PHLPPs.

What pays off if the goal is to secure a faculty position in academia. Emphasises big papers and post-doc career rather than PhD. Not surprising but unfortunately puts even more emphasis on hitting a breakthrough paper rather than building persistently certain research direction.
