It's well-crafted pop with the magic touch that makes it enduringly beloved AND reviled. Wherever you land on it, it's genuinely interesting to see the moment when an actual new Xmas classic arrives, bc it's very rare for a new one to be canonized in this way, and you can't know until decades later.

This MTV recording I found from an extremely golden age of 1994 is a time capsule of exactly specifically the last time the world existed before Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” as shown by this ominous trailer. Make of that what you will.

My morning workout today was shovelling about 5 cm of snow off about 100 feet of driveway (and if that’s not the most Canadian way of describing measurements, I don’t know what is 😆). Always nice to start the day with a feeling of accomplishment. 😊

6) Art is, in the end, a way of taking a feeling out of my head and trying to jam it into yours from across space and time. There may be some tasty junk food made by AI eventually, but without intention, our appetites to make will be unmet, and we will eventually move on. 6/6
