What's up in the cubic EoS world? - there are new EoS (Yang-Frotscher-Richter, Almajose-Melida) that try to look up what is the best atractive volume polynomial via exploring the search space (YFR used Symbolic regression, AM used grid search)

I have observed a particular change, in the issues abd discussions posted in Clapeyron.jl. I could say that there are now two generations of issue-opener users. The first generation was happy to use the API we provided, most issues were on asking for more functionality, over the same API.

Q: Anyone know if fast flowing vs slow flowing vs not flowing water effects evaporation rates? 🤔 Haven’t found anything on a quick search, so seems negligible but want to see if anyone knows something I don’t.

packages vs python packages, the names are really literal: - SeaWeed.jl: manages and allows simulations of seaweed. you can customize, fauna, water composition... - seaweed-py: a S3 API for Docker

seems like bluesky lacks some thermodynamics. here are some fun facts: - Do not mix more than two inmiscible fluids, i will pour supercritical water at you if you do that. - Everything is an ideal gas, non-ideal gases? ideal gas. Liquids? ideal gas. Solids? ideal gas, of course.

It’s sad to lose our hegemonic stranglehold on the global economy but luckily Americans are resilient and won’t all murder each other the second we are denied basic conveniences and treats. so it’s basically fine

I wish i could see fourier decompositions with the naked eye. In the meantime, one way i found to identify AI videos is just to observe the local entropy of the image, current generated videos really struggle with irreversible phenomena, their arrow of time is wobbly

its neat that default arguments values in
#julialang
can be computed from other argument values. you can have a whole bunch of code to define the default argument in the function signature itself.

It's interesting that while
#JuliaLang
firmly resisted the idea of having all objects be truthy or falsy (i.e. overloading implicit boolean conversion), it does have all types being scalary or vectory*, because of how broadcasting works. (* they also can act in openly defined other ways)

African statistical agencies are understaffed and underfunded—and are often left guessing the size of the economy from population figures, which are themselves extrapolated from decades-old. In Zambia in 2010, the national accounts were prepared by one (1!) person.
