Been working on an FFT-influenced clock buffer in OBS for music visuals and it's been super fun! Added a spinning cube to test those clock values with rotation since it's a good & fun indicator of smoothness & responsiveness for the buffer. Everything here is rendered/composited in realtime in OBS.

Texture sampling can be less expensive than you think it is because of the fact GPUs are able to hide a lot of the cost of sampling via parallel operations. Most will sample multiple textures at the same time for no additional performance cost too.

Decided to check out how water is rendered in Counter-Strike 2. Given how interactive water in CS2 is, I expected to see some cellular fluid simulation, but turns out they just use a low-resolution off-screen buffer with flat 2D decals used for various aspects of water. Reminds me of HL2 water :)
