Meissner is upset that the AAP boycotted the meeting, and claims it is childish. I would so much rather be childish than have professional medical organizations lend legitimacy to this farce. The AAP's (and IDSA, SAHM, SHEA) example should be followed by all professional medical societies.

Hepatitis B can be passed from parent to baby at birth - and when that happens, the consequences can be deadly. It is unscientific and dangerous to intentionally ignore the success of U.S. vaccination programs or argue that the U.S. should not vaccinate babies for hepatitis B at birth.

Kids DO get more shots now than they did decades ago. Thereâs also a lot less death from preventable illnesses. Thatâs a win! Letâs dive into the wonderful world of Vaccine Schedules. The AAP first took ownership of schedules back in the late 1930s and we continue to recommend the vaccine schedule.
