It’s been a whirlwind week. And while I never expected this platform, I’m grateful for it, and the opportunity to help contribute to people’s health beyond the bedside. And however dire the headlines remain, I am hopeful for a better future. Thank you for the trust.

California is prioritizing data, science, and facts!

Sanders: People can't afford health care. People can't afford childcare. And this guy, in addition to giving tax breaks to billionaires, now wants to spend another $200 billion on a war that should never have been fought.

California is proof you don’t have to choose between a strong economy and clean energy. The world’s 4th largest economy has run on clean power 9 out of 10 days, while cutting greenhouse gas emissions 21% and growing 81%.

Every candidate running for Congress should be talking about a public option for Americans to access healthcare. Sending small checks to Americans or increasing deductibles to 15K are not serious solutions. The public option. Now is the moment.

Flu is seemingly everywhere still. All the usual preventatives still apply but please remember if you’re exposed to Flu (especially from a say loved one that you live with), ask your provider about Tamiflu for “post-exposure” prophylaxis. It can be helpful to keep you healthy after an exposure.

I’m a pulmonologist and military reservist. When I don’t know something, I say that. I also try to be consistent and build partnerships locally, all to augment community trust. Transparency, Consistency, Partnerships. More of that may actually help rebuild trust.
