A 6-year-old just lost his mother. A woman was shot in the face in front of her wife. The swift, lockstep attempt to dehumanize and villainize Renee Nicole Good might be the most depraved thing we've seen yet from these ghouls and their supporters. These people are utterly fucking dead inside.

I think it's pretty clear that they want to provoke confrontation, and they want ICE agents to feel tense, frightened, and threatened—antagonistic to the public, grateful and loyal to the administration that "protects" them. They want excuses for violence, and a militia eager to deploy it.

It’s not enough for these people to brazenly lie to cover up a cold blooded killing by a trigger happy federal goon, they have to make up lies about the woman they killed and people like her to spit on her grave.

The sheer number of videos of the shooting is horrific, but in the vein of what @prisonculture.bsky.social has been saying, it proves how many people cared enough to show up where ICE was and record them. It wasn't just one or two legal observers, and when Good was shot, they didn't abandon her.

A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

The NYTimes has clearly not chosen to follow the AP's lead. The videos--which you should not watch unless you really have to, I assure you--gut DHS's claim, but the NYT *chooses* to *lead* with it.

I had missed this. An ICE officer allegedly pointed a gun at a man in Chicago, and said (approx) "bang bang ... you're dead, liberal." In a functioning democracy, an officer who threatened politicized death like this would be fired immediately. Here? Prob never even know who he was.

This seems significant: not a FORMER DHS official, but a SENIOR (current) one saying the officer who fired acted counter to training. This is not an admin that admits mistakes. And they are hanging this guy out to dry on Day One. I think they know this is bad. Really bad.

Like those before it, that insane, vile DHS statement about the Minneapolis shooting isn't about covering anything up. It's performative lying. They aren't trying to persuade anyone that their agents did nothing wrong. They're trying to project that their agents can get away with anything.

Watch it, it’s heartbreaking, evil and a disgrace. She had been in the US for 46 years fighting for her citizenship, paid taxes, she’s a mom, a grandmother and treated by ICE as a criminal. Her mother isn’t a criminal, but President Trump is.
