Day 9 of #repostyourart is Light. I'm not good at light yet. Here's a sunset that I thought worked out well. (Background I painted first with shades of yellow/orange, then ultramarine blue for the grass... it worked out perfectly when the layers below mixed in.)

Placeholder assets in a game should look obnoxiously temporary, so obvious that no one would mistake it for the final asset. In past games we've used the doge dog (rip) as an icon, hot pink versions of characters, our CEO's head, etc. If you use a temp asset that seems passable, it may stay there.

I've said it before: I genuinely consider it a moral imperative that people my age and up bang the drum about what the Internet used to be so those younger know that there's nothing inherent about what it is now. The Internet doesn't have to be this; its culture can and has belonged to people.

I still really want to do more fanart and art for exchanges in particular - I've done one so far this year - but I feel like my art is just. Not as good a gift. I've written for far longer so I know what I'm doing. With art I'm really still learning.
