How does a reading crisis arise? There is a lot of emphasis on individual effort, but could this be a result of (for example) lack of funding for school libraries? Or the disappearance of community spaces and resources? Or the blame placed on individuals who would most benefit from these resources?

Fascism likes to come up with talking points and debates so it can manipulate discourse in its favour, and we need to take a good hard look at the direction we're heading in. These people are not arguing in good faith and cis allies need to understand this if we want to see change.
