Today was one of my favorite lessons in French V for the year.

Lunch today was SO good: salmon patties and rice.

Why did the good, clean microwave have to die? The other one up here is gross. I might have to just clean it even though I didn’t cause the grossness.

Scary was being on the tracks when the red nights come on! Makes my heart race every time.

Schools have no clue how many students are living under the threat of deportation for themselves and/or their immediate families. We have no way to collect this data or to address the issues that arise when students live in fear of their worlds being torn apart. And it’s a massive problem.

The happiest moment of my day is when I found out that I didn’t get a bathroom duty before my prep because I have an independent study student during my planning.

Today is Fête des Rois (Three Kings Day) and I taught the new students about the traditions. When the students learned about the figurine inside, a particular student said for the winner, it’s like a happy meal. #teacher #highschool #france

Not what I wanted to see this morning, but we do have alternative copiers, thankfully.

The first legislative update from ISTA is going to start soon. One of my best decisions of 2025 was to become a member of our new Legislative Action Team to make our local stronger and more active.

Had a nice lunch with four of my teacher friends. We all were at the middle school when I started, but now we are split up and one doesn’t teach any more.

✅ Got everything done for our bulletin board. ✅ Got some work done for the Legislative Action Team for my local union BEFORE contracted hours. ✅ Did some needed prep work with emails for my 2026 France Trip. ✅ Got PowerSchool back to how I need it for my dual credit classes. ✅ Work day = done.

It would be nice to sleep tonight.

Spent the past few hours planning some nice things for my two dual-credit classes. For the first time, since I have French V as a separate class, we are going to watch some films during the cinema unit. We are going to start with the classic “Le voyage dans la lune” from 1903.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.
