35 years since seeing it at the cinema, Akira is still a cinematic masterpiece. Such beautiful artwork and animation, and Yamashiro's soundtrack is seminal. My son, who hadn't seen it before said he can see how it's influenced so much, including Stranger Things, which I had not considered. Superb.
