Sometimes we hear from teachers and professors that they're using Lingthusiasm in the classroom, which is awesome! If that's you, we've set up this short form so you can tell us about how you use it:

The main thing that concerns me now is that we need to have enough solid APPLICATIONS So if you know of someone who's working on communicating linguistics with broader audiences, who'd benefit from a bit of money and a mentorship meeting, can you tell 'em about the grants?

So far we've given out 21 microgrants of various sizes LingComm grantees have made projects in English, Spanish, German, ASL, Italian, and Macedonian I'd have to dig into our spreadsheets to get exact location info but it's definitely over 10 countries

When we started @lingthusiasm.com, we benefitted from grad school funding that let us cover a few startup costs, and we recognize that not everyone has those resources That's why in 2020, @superlinguo.bsky.social and I started the LingComm Grants, to help up-and-coming linguistics communicators

Slight diversion from our usual Lingthusiasm programming: @gretchenmcculloch.com was invited to narrate the audiobook for Shakespeare's Sonnets: Abridged Beyond the Point of Usefulness by friend of the podcast @zachweinersmith.bsky.social And we have some free copies for patrons!

Awards and prizes are a lovely way to acknowledge good work being done in your workplace or community. One of my biggest critiques of awards is that people are not awarded commendations enough. I love commendations!

The LingComm Grants are back! These grants started in 2020, as "hey let's help get lingcomm projects going during lockdown" They've since run in 2022 and 2024, and thanks to generous folks we've always given out more than expected But they only work if people apply!!! Please share this!!
