Got around to The Substance last night. The more I think about it the more I don't like it. The heightened reality of the cinematography and design didn't work for me. It felt cruel and mean-spirited, and while it seems to have had some kind of feminist intent it felt more than a little misogynist.

Absolutely. I love every part from the idea to tinkering with every sentence in the edit. I wish we all got paid more and publishing didn’t make me sad and angry more often than delighted, but writing stories is great actually and I am so excited that we (when we) get to do it.
