🥹⚾️🙏🏽 Honored to have you be part of the show's history, and beyond grateful for the enormous role Baseball Reference plays in every single episode's liner notes.

After writing about "Casey at the Bat" for all these years, the challenge was to find a new angle.

I know Ray Liotta was great in Goodfellas, but he'll always be Shoeless Joe to me. He passed away four years ago today at the age of 67.

Some fun news, was able to finally locate Jack Remsen, one of the more high profile missing players, who had a big league career that spanned from 1872 to 1884 and was a regular with Hartford in the inaugural season of the National League back in 1876. I'll break down how I found him in a thread.

Today marks the release date of my third book, “The Ballpark and Beyond.” I wrote it (75,000+ words,) & created all the art for it (150+ original illustrations.) I designed & packaged it, and I even narrated the audiobook. Available wherever books are sold—purchase, rate, and review.

Who knows where I can find game logs for Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn's final season in 1891? Retrosheet and Baseball Reference have the 1891 Reds team schedule and results, but neither have box scores for that season where I can see the individual games he pitched. Can anyone help?

RIP James A. Riley, former SABR Board President and Negro Leagues historian. His landmark 1994 book “The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues” remains one of the most comprehensive reference works on Black baseball:
