a canceled streaming subscription is easily converted to several spec fic magazine subs on patreon and similar services, some are as low as 1-2 bucks. the more you know.

I think its nice when an advocate of volcano-based sacrifices gets thrown into a volcano. I personally dont believe there's any use or good that comes from throwing people in volcanos, but it does lessen the blow when the sacrifices really, you know, believe in it.

I never thought I’d see the day when I’d have to warn writers against submitting to Asimov’s, Analog, F&SF, Alfred Hitchcock’s, or Ellery Queen’s.

So, while we don’t link to Substacks in this house…suffice to say that I share the anger and frustration with Must Read Magazines, their refusal to negotiate fair contract terms for authors and what this means for these decades-old, flagship genre magazines. 😠

This is important for all writers, no matter where they are in their publication journey. Your work is your work, and contracts are meant to protect it, and you, and the writing community at large. MRM is trying to normalize _very_ bad behavior.
