Holy shit. This guy saved a PNG to a bird. (he drew a bird into a spectrogram, played that sound to a starling, and the starling reproduced it back to him with enough accuracy he got his bird drawing back in their call's spectrogram)

One thing that feels crazy is that the AEI and Cato are practically part of the resistance now. And you kinda got to hand it to em for not following the rest of the US right into Peronism or whatever we call this

If the Canada and Mexico "deals" are anything to go by this is going to be a meaningless agreement so that one side can declare victory. But I predict 10% levy remains on many non headline items. Let's see!

probably enough countries will kayfabe some MOUs or vapor "deals" with the trump admin by July 18 for a climbdown on the 'reciprocal' tariffs. But if the the across-the-board 10% sticks (still big!), by the time there's a new admin it could have a constituency. Ratchet effect.

Honestly a "curious" editorial choice from polymarket to blast their email list with an interview f. no-hoper Bernier days before the election, but I doubt it would do anything but siphon degen support from CPC.

A lot of the worst dark / annoying UI patterns arise from growth teams engaging in goodharting. In SaaS, this often happens by impacting one metric at the expense of another, eg commonly an increase in trial conversion rate will also increase churn. You wonāt see the churn part though ā¦

It is so tragically funny that trump told everyone what his plan was and big business just decided to vote away a Goldilocks economy and the rule of law. And for what? Are the tax cuts gonna be worth all this? Were a few FTC officials not deferential enough to slop emperor zuck?

If a hotel has all its attractions across multiple floors, can we please make the stairs functional and pleasant? Maybe this cuts into the number of rooms crammed in but cmon I shouldn't have to wait for the elevator for 4 min to go up one floor to the bar
