There are so many good reasons to criticize some things that it seems to really get my goat when people use bad reasons. We're going in the same direction but all the same they're making it hard to steer.

This is just generally great advice: don't try to avoid conflict, that doesn't really make it go away, in any part of life. Rather, try to do the conflict well and gracefully. Or, as some friends like to put it, you can't stop the waves from coming, but you can learn to ride.

How it started/how it’s going

This is the price of oil in the past year. It will result in more drilling in some places, to avoid the strait basically, but it's definitely going to result in less oil burned. People just don't want to pay this much. I don't think any kind of climate activism in 2026 will matter more than this.
